Murchison Falls National Park is in northern Uganda. It is the largest national park in Uganda, covering about 3,840 square kilometres. The mighty River Nile flows through the park and creates the famous Murchison Falls.
The park has different types of vegetation, including savannah grasslands, woodlands, swamps, and the tropical Budongo Forest. These habitats support many animals. Visitors can see lions, leopards, hyenas, buffaloes, hippos, crocodiles, and many other wildlife species. Budongo Forest is also home to chimpanzees and other forest species. The park is also a good place to look for the rare shoebill.

Day 1: Travel to Murchison Falls National Park
Drive to Murchison Falls National Park. On the way, visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary to see the rhinos. Continue to the park and visit the top of Murchison Falls.
Day 2: Game Drive and Boat Cruise
Start the day with a morning game drive. Look out for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, and other wildlife.

Detailed 3 Days Murchison Falls Uganda safari
Day 01: Drive to Murchison Falls National Park via Zziwa Rhino Sanctuary and top of the falls.
Your guide will meet you at your hotel and give you a short briefing about the 3 Days Murchison Falls Safari. You will then start your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. The drive takes about 4 to 5 hours.
On the way, you will visit Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary. Here, you will have a chance to see and track white and black rhinos. Rhinos became extinct in Uganda because of heavy poaching in the 1970s. Today, conservation groups are working to bring them back into the country.
After visiting the sanctuary, you will continue to Masindi for lunch. You will then drive to Murchison Falls National Park and visit the top of the falls. After the visit, you will continue to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

The Murchison Falls
After breakfast, you will cross the ferry to the northern part of Murchison Falls National Park. This area, known as Paraa, is rich in wildlife.
During the morning game drive, you may see lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, and different types of antelopes. The Nile Delta is also home to hippos, crocodiles, and the rare shoebill.
Wild animals in the park move freely in their natural habitat. This means that wildlife sightings can vary from day to day. Your guide will help you search for as many animals as possible.
After the game drive, you will return to the lodge for lunch. In the afternoon, you will enjoy a boat cruise on the River Nile to the base of Murchison Falls.
The boat cruise is one of the main highlights of the safari. Along the river, you may see elephants, buffaloes, crocodiles, hippos, and many water birds. The boat will continue upstream to the base of the falls, where the Nile passes through a narrow gorge before rushing down the falls.
After the boat cruise, you will return to the lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
