Detailed 12-Day Uganda Adventure Safari

Welcome to Uganda, the Pearl of Africa.

Meet your professional Zamunda Travels safari guide at Entebbe International Airport or your hotel and begin your journey to Jinja, Uganda’s adventure capital.

Enjoy the changing scenery as you travel through towns, villages and lush countryside.

On arrival in Jinja, check into your lodge and relax. Depending on your arrival time, you may enjoy an optional visit to the Nile for sunset views.

After breakfast, prepare for one of the most exciting experiences of the safari: white-water rafting on the River Nile.

With professional guides and safety equipment, take on the river’s exhilarating rapids while enjoying beautiful scenery along the Nile. Calmer sections provide time to relax and appreciate the surrounding landscape.

After rafting and lunch, travel north towards Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Rhino trekking experience in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary UgandaBegin the day with an unforgettable rhino tracking experience at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary.

Accompanied by a ranger, walk through the sanctuary in search of white rhinos while learning about Uganda’s rhino conservation efforts.

Continue to Murchison Falls National Park, Uganda’s largest national park.

Visit the Top of Murchison Falls, where the Nile squeezes through a narrow gorge before plunging downstream.

Rise early for a game drive across the park’s savannah plains.

Look for lions, elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, Uganda kob, hartebeest and other wildlife. With luck, you may also spot a leopard.

Later, enjoy a boat safari along the Victoria Nile towards the base of Murchison Falls.

Watch for hippos, crocodiles, elephants and numerous waterbirds along the riverbanks.

Travel south towards Kibale National Park, passing through changing landscapes, villages, tea plantations and rolling countryside.

Later, visit Bigodi Wetland Sanctuary with a local guide.

The community-managed wetland offers opportunities to see monkeys, birds and other wildlife while learning about community-based conservation.

Chimpanzee in Kibale National Park UgandaAfter breakfast, head to Kibale for your chimpanzee trekking experience.

Enter the forest with experienced rangers and guides and search for habituated chimpanzee communities.

After the trek, continue to Queen Elizabeth National Park.

Depending on arrival time, enjoy an optional evening game drive.

Start with an early morning game drive through the Kasenyi Plains.

Search for lions, elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kob, warthogs and other wildlife.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat safari on the famous Kazinga Channel, which connects Lakes Edward and George.

The channel is known for its impressive concentrations of hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes and waterbirds.

Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi UgandaToday brings one of the greatest highlights of your Uganda safari: mountain gorilla trekking.

After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a ranger briefing before entering Bwindi Forest in search of a habituated gorilla family.

Once you find the gorillas, observe their natural behaviour while following ranger instructions and maintaining the required distance.

After the trek, transfer to beautiful Lake Bunyonyi.

Relax beside the lake, surrounded by terraced hills and scenic islands.

After breakfast, experience the cultural importance of Ankole long-horned cattle in southwestern Uganda.
