Detailed 7-Day Uganda Gorilla, Golden Monkey & Wildlife Safari
Day 1: Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Your Uganda safari begins with a scenic drive from Kampala or Entebbe to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in southwestern Uganda. The journey takes approximately 8–10 hours, depending on road and traffic conditions.
Along the way, enjoy a stop at the Equator in Kayabwe for photographs and a memorable experience at this famous landmark. Continue to Mbarara for lunch before proceeding southwest through Uganda’s countryside, with views of banana plantations, coffee farms and tea-growing areas.
Arrive at your lodge in the evening, check in, enjoy dinner and relax ahead of your Golden Monkey Trekking adventure.

Day 2: Golden Monkey Trekking and Transfer to Bwindi
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park Headquarters for a briefing before beginning your Golden Monkey Trekking adventure.
Led by an experienced Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger, you will enter the forest in search of the endangered golden monkeys. The trek can take several hours depending on the location and movement of the troop and the conditions in the forest.
Once you find the golden monkeys, you will have a designated viewing period to observe their behavior and take photographs.
After the trek, return to the park headquarters and continue your scenic journey to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. Check in at your lodge and relax for the evening.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking and Batwa Community Experience


Wake up early for breakfast before heading to the designated Gorilla Trekking briefing point. After registration and briefing, you will be allocated to a gorilla family and begin your trek into Bwindi’s ancient rainforest.
The trek can vary in duration depending on the location of the gorilla family. Once you find the gorillas, you will have a regulated viewing period to observe them as they feed, rest, play and interact within their natural habitat.
After the trek, return to the park headquarters and later visit a Batwa Community to learn about their culture, traditions and historical connection with the forest.
This cultural experience provides an opportunity to interact with local community members and learn more about life around Bwindi.

Day 4: Bwindi to Queen Elizabeth National Park via Ishasha
After breakfast, depart Bwindi and drive toward Queen Elizabeth National Park.
The route takes you through the Ishasha Sector in the southern part of the park. If conditions and timing permit, enjoy a game drive through this scenic area, which is famous for its tree-climbing lions.
You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, topi, antelopes and other wildlife along the way.
Continue to your lodge in Queen Elizabeth National Park for check-in, dinner and an evening of relaxation.

Day 5: Game Drive and Kazinga Channel Boat Cruise
Start the day with breakfast before heading out for a morning game drive in Queen Elizabeth National Park.
Explore the park’s savannah landscapes in search of wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, lions, leopards, antelopes and warthogs.
In the afternoon, head to the Kazinga Channel for a memorable boat cruise. The channel connects Lake Edward and Lake George and is known for its concentration of hippos and other wildlife.
During the cruise, you can see hippos in the water, crocodiles along the banks, elephants near the shoreline and numerous bird species.
Return to your lodge for dinner and relaxation.

Day 6: Queen Elizabeth to Kibale and Chimpanzee Trekking
After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and drive toward Kibale Forest National Park, one of Uganda’s premier destinations for Chimpanzee Trekking.
Upon arrival, prepare for an afternoon Chimpanzee Trekking experience. Accompanied by trained guides and park staff, you will enter the forest in search of chimpanzees.
The trek can take several hours depending on the location and movement of the chimpanzees. Once you find them, you will have a designated viewing period to observe their social behavior, feeding habits and interactions.
After the trek, return to the starting point and receive your Chimpanzee Trekking certificate before heading back to your lodge.

Day 7: Bigodi Community Experience and Transfer to Entebbe
After breakfast, visit the Bigodi Community, located near Kibale Forest National Park, for a cultural and community-based experience.
Depending on the selected community program, you can participate in activities such as a nature walk, traditional banana processing, local coffee preparation and other community experiences.
After the visit, begin your journey back to Entebbe. Depending on your departure flight time, your driver-guide will transfer you to Entebbe International Airport for your outbound flight.
This marks the end of your 7-Day Uganda Gorilla, Golden Monkey and Wildlife Safari with Zamunda Travels.
