Detailed 3-Day Samburu Safari
Day 1: Nairobi – Samburu National Reserve
Your 3-Day Samburu Safari begins with an early morning pick-up from your Nairobi hotel or airport. Meet your professional driver-guide for a short safari briefing before starting your journey north.
Drive towards the northern frontier of Kenya, passing through the scenic landscapes around Nanyuki. You will have an opportunity to cross the Equator before continuing towards Samburu National Reserve.
Arrive at the reserve and check in to your lodge or camp. Enjoy lunch and take some time to relax before your first game drive.
At around 4:00 PM, head out for an afternoon game drive. Explore the reserve as wildlife becomes more active in the cooler hours of the day.
Keep an eye out for elephants, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, warthogs, lions, and other wildlife. Return to your lodge before dark for dinner and overnight.
Overnight: Samburu Simba Lodge or similar
Meals: Lunch and Dinner
Day 2: Full-Day Samburu Game Drive
Start the day with an early breakfast before heading into the reserve for an exciting morning game drive.
The early morning is one of the best times for wildlife viewing. Cooler temperatures encourage many animals to become active before the heat of the day.
Your guide will help you search for predators such as lions, cheetahs, and leopards. You may also encounter elephants, buffaloes, giraffes, zebras, antelopes, warthogs, and many bird species.
Continue with a full-day game drive through the reserve. Enjoy the changing landscapes and the opportunity to observe wildlife in its natural environment.
Return to your lodge before dark for dinner and a relaxing evening.
Overnight: Samburu Sopa Lodge or similar
Meals: Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner
Day 3: Samburu – Nairobi
Enjoy an early breakfast before checking out and beginning your journey back to Nairobi.
Before leaving Samburu, enjoy a final morning game drive as you exit the reserve. This provides one more opportunity to spot wildlife and enjoy the beautiful northern Kenya landscape.
Continue towards Nairobi, arriving in the late afternoon or early evening.
You will be dropped off at your Nairobi hotel or airport.
