Mountain gorilla trekking in Bwindi UgandaThe Ultimate Primate Encounter

Today is the highlight of your Rwanda and Uganda safari.

After an early breakfast, travel to the park headquarters in the Rushaga sector for your gorilla trekking briefing.

Your ranger guides will explain the trekking procedures, safety requirements and responsible gorilla-viewing guidelines before you enter the ancient Bwindi rainforest.

The trek can take several hours depending on the location and movements of the gorilla family, as well as the terrain and forest conditions.

Walk through dense vegetation and beneath towering trees while your ranger interprets the forest and looks for signs of the gorillas.

Then comes the moment you have travelled to Africa to experience: your first sight of a mountain gorilla.

You may observe a powerful silverback, a mother caring for her infant or young gorillas playing within the family group.

Once the gorilla family is located, enjoy your allocated viewing time observing these remarkable animals in their natural habitat.

Gorilla trekking offers more than a wildlife sighting. It provides an opportunity to witness one of the world’s most remarkable primates in the protected environment of its natural forest habitat.
